Andover Archers - Turkey Shoot |
| On the 16th December 2007, we at Andover Archers
will be creating some festive fun, and furjollity, by
holding a Turkey Shoot. A small entrance fee, may be payable. No, not a live turkey, before I have animal rights on my case. Turkeys will be positioned at 40yds and 60yds respectively. The 40yd distance will be for the juniors (under 18) and the 60yds for the adults. Each archer will shoot a total of 3doz arrows in lots of three. Arrows will only score if the kill zone of the bird is hit, the arrow will then score 10 points. Arrows hitting any other part of the bird will score zero. The turkey will be positioned at ground level, in their natural habitat. The archer with the most points after shooting 36 arrows will win a Christmas turkey. Second prize will be a Chicken, and third, well you don't want to know!!!!!! Ho, by the way, I will be looking for someone to give the old bird a good stuffing first! Ho, there's just one thing I forgot to mention, no, I'll tell you on the day! Please Note:- This will be a closed shoot open to club members only
