Andover - Sway - Southampton 3 Way Shoots

This shoot is a friendly shoot between members of all three clubs, Southampton, Sway and Andover.

These shoots were conceived by Robbie of Southampton Archery club. The first shoot took place in 2004.

The first of the three shoots normally takes place around the middle of November, the second around the middle of December, and the third the middle of January.

As the name implies, the series consist of three shoots, one at Southampton, then Sway and then at Andover (but not necessarily in that order).

The rounds shot are National based, being for the adults 4 dozen at 60 yards, and 2 dozen at 50 yards. For the novice's and juniors shorter based National rounds are provided.

The main idea of the three shoots has been to generate a closer relationship between the clubs, and provide a social gathering amongst us. Another important facet of the shoot is the social side and the Sunday lunch down the pub afterwards. Organised by the club hosting the shoot, lunch normally consist of a traditional Sunday dinner (and the obligatory drink!) and talk of those missed opportunities (and arrows !).

The shooting normally starts at about 10:00am with sighters, and concludes about 1:00 to 1:30pm ish. Before the shooting commences, large amounts of Bacon butties are consumed, together with tea and coffee, (together with the odd swig of something stronger mixed in, although banned substances will be tested for!).

There's no formal dress code for the shoots, just warm and comfortable clothing, and even best no entry fee!.

Should you wish to take part in any of these three shoots, and are a member of either Sway, Southampton or Andover, then please contact your club Tournament Organiser on the links below:-
